The Original Venus

 

I meant to put this picture in after the next post- but i'd forgot. This is a fresco, painted back in circa 1st Century AD- pretty cool. This is an earlier version of Botticelli's. I also got to see the original in Pompeii, Italy.. The city that became ruins after Mt Vesuvius errupted covering the entire city and people in lava.. super cool. Plus you can even see bodies encased in the hardened lava at Pompeii. P.s I climbed Mt. Vesuvius- it was weird to be at the top, unable to imagine how something that seemed so calm and serene, could have caused such a catastrophic event.
