Welcome to New York City

Hey there, its been a while since I've had anything exciting here on this site. I'd like to welcome you to New York City. I flew to New York, September 14-17th, to spend 2 nights and 2 full days with my ship boy, Daymond. We did the sites, did alot of walking, had a ton of fun. We stayed at the Carter Hotel- a really big dive, complete with a rickety bed, a tv with 3 channels- 2 of which were in Espanol, a shower that had moldy tiles that were breaking off, and stuck to your feet if you didn't wear flipflops, and the hallways looked something right out of the Shining. But.. nevertheless, it was right in Times Square, and close to everything- and what wasn't close, was just a hop skip and a jump via the Subway. Oh, and this place was so golden, that we went for a day and half without water! lol...thats right, no flushing of the toilet, showering or brushing your teeth. I probably would have been better off like the reviews of this hotel mentioned, that i'd have had a better stay at the YMCA down the street. Indeed probably true, but its FINE.. because hello? I'm in NEW YORK CITY, and who needs a great hotel anyway!!! Nothing some bottled water, babywipes and perfume couldn't take care of!
After Daymond left,I moved into my cousins apartment for a night, and met up with my long time friend of 8 years, Rob. We had a great time and had a ton of fun in the City. I met a lot of cool people. Including, a bum. Yep- he was selling newspapers. One night outside of the pub, I had asked him, what had happened for him to be on the streets. He told me he used to be a crack dealer, and was in jail for 3 years. Now, no one will hire him, because of his record. I felt really sorry for him, as he said it was the dumbest thing he ever did, and wishes he could go back in time, and get an education, and stayed out of trouble. I gave him 3 bucks, if not for his honesty, then the story was good enough for me. Anyway, enjoy the pictures, they start from the bottom, and work their way up- so check out the first pick- its of me and Daymond in his cabin. HOpe you like them!

And here I am- we've landed, and here is a picture, of me, safe and sound, home from the Big Apple. The person beside me- this lady, is looking at me- currently we are looking at each other in this picture. She obviously had no clue that i had a huge website to put together.  Posted by Picasa

Okay well this is it. Welcome to Buffalo, NY. Buffalo actually looks kind of pretty from up here, green, peaceful..and far away Posted by Picasa

Okay, so here I am, on the plane of a Jet Blue 757, and I took this picture, cuz i thought this was a pretty cloud Posted by Picasa

So this is it, i'm on my way to the JFK airport. After a successful day in Central Park and walking yet another 100kms from the west side to the East side, and back to the West, I hailed a cab, and my friend Anthony came along for the ride. Anthony and I met in NYC, and he felt like going for a car ride- much like a dog likes to! LOL ha ha...so he and I rode in the cab, and dropped him off, somewhere along 52 and 8th ave.... Posted by Picasa

I was so caught up in the sights and busy bustle of people on a saturday morning, that I didnt' realize i'd walked so far, and stumbled across the Late Show studio... Total coincidence, but a nice one. Unfortunately, Dave didn't try to sneak out the side door Posted by Picasa

This is a square, okay so a circle actually, just outside of Central Park. See that bronzey statue in the left? Central Park is like.. right behind that corner... one of the 1000 entrances.... Posted by Picasa

Central Park even offers some forest-like foliage.. pretty isn't it? Posted by Picasa

I actually sat at this bench in the park for quite a few minutes, mostly because I was trying to cool myself down from the tropical heat wave New York was having, and no one wants to walk thru Central Park sweaty..and secondly, because I must have take 100 pictures of msyelf, trying to get a good one in with some green green grass in the background. I stopped at this one, because I realized I looked quite stupid, sitting on a bench, taking pictures of myself Posted by Picasa

Oh here is another view.. i was trying to show the vastness of Central Park- over there on the otherside of the water- thats part of the park too... Posted by Picasa

Here is a huge body of water- kind of like.. a pond meets a lake.. I guess thats actually a lake. I"m just used to the Great lakes, this thing is far from a Great Lake, but its very nice, and serene here Posted by Picasa

I'm a abit tired, because I didn't sleep much the night before- as exhibited in my ugly updo Posted by Picasa

The next day, I took a stroll in Central Park Posted by Picasa

Okay, not that i'd seriously call anyone. Because lets face it, we all know that me and long distance relationships, just aren't a match. But nevertheless, I still enjoyed all the attention, I have to admit. Posted by Picasa

Rob and I are in a pub, called Scruffy Duffy's. Its a nice pub, bustling with interesting people- friendly people. Lots of boys actually. Actually this bar houses a ton of men that asked me for my phone number. That night, I went home with a pocket stuffed with numbers! Posted by Picasa

I on the other hand, opted for a huge frozen apple martini. Soooo good. Clearly i was in need of a drink, when my mom tricked us into going to this restauraunt , which wasn't exactly a place where Rob and I "blended in"... lol Posted by Picasa

okay, so after a really long and exciting day, Rob and I went to this place to eat, called "Dallas". Ya, my mom told me about it.. she said they had really huge drinks, and cheap food. Rob opted for a beer Posted by Picasa

After the show, Rob and I battled the Crowds of the City, trying to make our way to a subway station Posted by Picasa

So i had to stop taking pictures once inside the theatre, but can i tell you, it was the best thing i've ever seen in my life. I'm in LOVE with this musical. it was tons of fun, and i wanted to belt out all the words to all the songs, since I bought the soundtrack, before even knowing i was actually going to NYC to see Rent. Anyway, after the show is over, people just linger around the doors, and out come all of the Rent cast. Its like a celebrity sighting, girls are screaming and running up to all the guys. This is Matt Caplan, he plays Mark, and does all the narrating, and he plays a role in the show. He was my favourite. He tried to like..sneak out of the side but nope, like he could get away. some ugly girls came over, and got their picture taken with him, so i thought i'd make his night, and let him get his picture with a pretty girl. WHICH I tried to play it cool, but the first thing I blurted, was OH MY GOD I'm IN LOVE WITH YOU. His eyes widened a bit, then I realized, I was just as crazy as those other girls... damnit

I love him so much, that I cropped the photo, so you could see him better. He is pretty cute, and the guy can sing.. He is really sexy when he is on stage. Quite honestly, I wanted to ask him if he wanted to be my new New York City boyfriend, but.. uh.. i didn't want to make the other girls jealous when he would say yes

It was all worth it, to get tickets to this musical Posted by Picasa

We even listened to some weirdo, sing songs while waiting in this line. Infront of him were gross pigeons that kept landing on this guys head and hands.. really creepy actually. I wanted to take a picture, but then i would have just looked creepy :( Posted by Picasa

Just a recap, we waited in about a 1000 person line to get these tickets Posted by Picasa

OMG AND NOW ITS TIME. Whats the TIME???? well its gotta be close to midnight.. HA HA kidding, thats a song from Rent. But, its about 7:30pm, Friday night. I am outside the theatre, waiting for the doors to open..  Posted by Picasa

I hate these flip flops. I must have walked over 50kms I'm SURE in these damn flip flops. They hurt, give me blisters, and make my feet black.  Posted by Picasa

I was in New York for 4 days. The 3 days that I'd already been there for, I was sweating everyday, as it was hotter than an oven everyday. This is the very first time I got goose bumps- on the Statten Island Ferry. Posted by Picasa

K I am ALMOST there... Posted by Picasa

Alright, I had to get my picture with the pretty lady Posted by Picasa
